Another win for the left?

Just heard that Matt Wrack, left-wing candidate for FBU general secretary, has beaten the incumbent, Andy Gilchrist, by 12,000 votes to 7,000. Gilchrist, people might remember, threw away the chance of victory in the firefighters' strike two years ago, sacrificing his members' pay and conditions to preserve the strike-free sanctity of a Labour government. I've not seen Wrack's victory confirmed yet, but this is potentially very good news - the spineless elements of the union bureaucracy need clearing out.
